Schulze Pollmann Pianos Italian style meets German tradition Schulze Pollmann was formed in 1928 by the merger of two German piano builders that had moved to Italy. The founding partner, Paul Pollmann, worked for many years as a designer and maker with Ibach and Steinway and Sons before opening his own factory in Unna near Dortmund. This piano making enterprise was moved to Turin in 1923, where Pollmann met Schulze, a piano maker originally from Zwickau in Germany, who was making pianos in Bolzano, in the north of Italy. The two merged in 1928 to create Schulze Pollmann. Members of the Pollmann family were encouraged to work with other piano making companies to develop new ideas and expand their knowledge of the craft with the aim of further developing the Schulze Pollmann brand in future years. These companies included Grotrian Steinweg, Zeitter & Winkelmann, and Schimmel, all piano makers with impressive design and manufacturing pedigrees. To this day, all Schulze Pollmann pianos are built to the classic and rigorously exacting criteria of the German piano making tradition, which Schulze Pollmann's long tradition of quality and craftsmanship is firmly established. The construction of Schulze Pollmann pianos enable their pianos to have a remarkable range of sound dynamics, so all pianists can express themselves with ease and precision. The action and keyboard are adjusted and positioned to provide a perfect balance of leverages. Highly accurate fine adjustments and settings give a firm and consistently sensitive touch, which following the great piano making traditions of Schulze Pollmann is perfect for every style of music. "I'm really glad to know Schulze Pollmann pianos , I believe they are among the best pianos there are." - Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli |
