Wendl&Lung
West meets East - Tradition + Innovation
Stefan Lung began making pianos in Vienna in 1890. He worked
as a maker with Brüder Mikula and Öser und Wirth before starting production of
pianos with his own company in 1910. It was at this time he merged with Johann
Wendl and the Wendl & Lung piano company was formed. Wendl & Lung have produced some of Europes nicest pianos
for over 100 years.
In 2003, the production of
pianos under the name of Wendl & Lung resumed at our partner's factory
NINGBO HAILUN MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS CO.LTD. in Ningbo, China.
The development of improved assembling processes, stricter quality controls, as
well as the selection of highest quality raw materials and piano parts resulted
in the ability to produce a piano which would be robust, durable, and suitable for
all climates.
Therefore, the new motto is - Tradition Meets Innovation! Through this partnership, FEURICH will produce hand-crafted uprights and grands in Gunzenhausen with an ever greater focus on quality, whereas Wendl&Lung will bring greatly improved and new models to market through its Ningbo production. In addition to other quality improvements, particular emphasis will be put on action development with new designs for actions and keyboards (Ibach Action Design). Ibach is also the designer of our newly constructed upright piano Mod. 114 - Premiere, which will replace our current models 110 and 115.Shackleford Piano is thrilled to be involved with this new partnership and endevour to always display all of the Wendl & Lung and Feurich range. |
